Birmingham City Football Club has recently revealed its plans for a new stadium that will become the centrepiece of a multi-billion pound redevelopment in the city.
With a 62,000 capacity, the stadium in Bordesley Green will be visible from 40 miles away, and is set to become a ‘beacon’ in the city. A nod to the city’s industrial heritage, the stadium will feature twelve chimney’s, covered in brickwork. The stadium is planned to host a range of sporting and entertainment events.
Incorporating modern engineering, the stadium is another major investment into the city, as Birmingham continues to secure significant investment and funding into various regeneration projects.
Tom Wagner, club chairman said: “The iconic design is a statement of intent for the City of Birmingham and the West Midlands, testament to a region that is on the rise. It’s also a wholehearted place for the community. The stadium will truly come alive where it meets the ground; a place for play, gathering, and everyday life.”
