Birmingham City University’s Education and Teacher Training provision has received an £11M refurbishment from Overbury.
The transformation of the Benjamin Zephaniah Building covers five floors, incorporating both teaching and study areas. Overbury led as the contractor, also assisting on the initial design, which included dedicated specialist areas for science, design, textiles and the arts.
Hazel Herbert, senior project manager at BCU, said: “The Benjamin Zephaniah Building project is a significant one for BCU as it continues to strive to ensure a great university experience for our students. Working alongside Overbury on the project was a truly collaborative experience”.
This latest refurbishment forms part of Birmingham City University’s wider programme investing in its learning spaces to enhance the experience of its 31,000 students.
