Birmingham’s iconic light festival returns

02/02/26

Birmingham’s ever-popular Light Festival is set to return to the city in just a couple of weeks, running from February 12th – February 15th.

The night sky over the city’s iconic Bullring will be lit up by a giant flaming organ as performances from local spoken word artist, Amerah Saleh and Insurgent, a band from the city take place. Many local creatives are involved with the festival, with the programme also featuring artworks from Artist Jack Quddus, and mural artist Richard O’Gorman.

Local university, Birmingham City University has also partnered with the festival, adding a new event to the schedule. Professor David Mba, Vice-Chancellor at Birmingham City University, said: “Birmingham Light Festival captures the imagination and energy of our city, bringing people together through creativity and shared experience. We’re proud to support an event that celebrates artistic innovation while transforming familiar spaces into something truly inspiring for residents and visitors alike.”

The event attracts over 60,000 visitors each year, and is a key highlight for the city.
