A European law firm with over 2,000 employees has selected Birmingham as its next base as it looks to double its workforce.
Fieldfisher has confirmed the move into Two Chamberlain Square, located in the £1.2 billion Paradise Birmingham development. With the new office located within Birmingham’s city centre, this pivotal location will enable Fieldfisher to expand its offering across the UK and Europe. The law firm is aiming to take advantage of the large talent pool in Birmingham. With the city retaining almost 50% of its graduates, from high-ranking universities, Birmingham boasts one of the most talented workforces in the UK.
Managing partner Robert Shooter said: “With its strong European connections, Birmingham has been a key location for us to continue working towards our strategy of becoming Europe’s leading law firm. Moving our team to a city centre location will allow us to nurture our existing client relationships and build new ones as we grow our team and our capabilities in the region.”
Fieldfisher Birmingham has doubled its turnover in the last six years and was the fastest growing office in the firm’s network in 2023/24, posting a revenue increase of 16 per cent. The Birmingham office currently employs 66 staff, and 15 partners, with the aim to double this workforce in the next five years.
